There is a version of the Christian message being preached to millions of people every week that has quietly replaced the actual gospel with something far more marketable. It promises financial breakthrough, physical healing, restored relationships, and a life of favor and blessing, usually in exchange for a seed offering and a positive confession. It uses real Bible verses. It has real stages and real production budgets. And Paul has a word for what it is: a counterfeit gospel.

This episode defines that term carefully, because not everything that’s theologically thin rises to that level. But when blessing becomes the center and Yeshua becomes merely the means to get it, we’ve crossed a line.

When grace is treated as something you can purchase with a financial gift to a teacher’s ministry, we’ve crossed a line. And when people in real pain are handed a formula instead of a Savior and told that their suffering is evidence of weak faith rather than evidence that they live in a real world, we’ve crossed a line.

Because the Bible doesn’t promise you comfort. It promises you God.

There’s a word Yeshua used in John 15 that most of us blow right past. It’s the Greek word katharos and in the Jewish world he was operating in, it wasn’t just a feeling. It was a legal status. A priestly declaration. Something you couldn’t pronounce over yourself.

And the night before his crucifixion, knowing exactly what the next twelve hours would look like, he looked at his disciples and said it anyway.

You are already clean.

This episode sits in John 15:3, pulls in the purification language of the Hebrew Bible, and asks the question so many of us need to answer honestly: are we actually living like the verdict is in? Or are we still performing for a clipboard God who we secretly believe hasn’t decided yet?

The Hebrew word behind "holy" is kadosh and it doesn't mean morally perfect. It means other. In this episode we go back to the Hebrew, walk through Isaiah's throne room, unpack the theology built into the Temple's architecture, and land on what God actually says the set-apart life looks like in Leviticus 19.

In this episode, we’re pulling back the curtain on three of the biggest misconceptions surrounding Matthew 5 through 7, starting with the assumption that Yeshua was doing something brand new on that hillside. He wasn’t. He was a first-century Jewish rabbi doing exactly what first-century Jewish rabbis did, except with an authority nobody else could touch.

We’re also going to talk about what Yeshua actually meant when he said he didn’t come to abolish the Torah, because that phrase means something very specific in its original context and most of us have been reading it wrong. And then we’re going to sit with the Beatitudes for a minute, because they are not the inspirational sentiments we’ve turned them into. They are prophetic declarations soaked in the Psalms and the prophets, and once you hear them that way, you won’t be able to unhear it.
