Key Verse:
John 15:2 – “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away, and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.”
Devotional:
Abiding doesn’t mean coasting. It means growth. And growth doesn’t always feel good… it often feels like loss. Jesus said the Father prunes the branches that do bear fruit. That means even fruitful seasons aren’t immune from pain.
Pruning looks like God cutting back what we thought was working. Closing doors. Ending relationships. Stripping away what we leaned on. But pruning isn’t punishment. It’s preparation. It’s God saying, “You’ve been fruitful, but I’m making room for more.”
