I ended up in Ephesians 6 just yesterday as I read the words of Psalm 140:6

"O LORD, my LORD, the strength of my salvation, you have covered my head in the day of battle."

I immediately thought of the helmet of salvation. And Psalm 140 as a whole seems to point to the same topic Paul is teaching in Eph 6:12.... when others speak and act in ways that feel like they are against us, Paul reminds us its really a Spiritual battle and we fight from the victory already won for us in Christ. We don't entertain lies and doubt, but cling to the truth found in His Word. We pray continually.

Yep… Paul, as well as the others, would have pulled verses from the Psalms in their teachings so makes total sense! God’s Word never ceases to amaze me.

On social media I often post/refer to the meme about Bible Study and it shows a man with red string and a "murder board" type layout and he's super into it and explaining how its all connected. Because its JUST like that. Cross-references are everywhere and the more you're in the Word the more the Spirit brings them to mind. I love it. ❤️

I love that meme

This was so good! I had no idea that this came from Isaiah or that God wore it first! Love this. Great teaching!

I love this! Taking the armor of God from a “to do” list back to its source! I am clothed in His Armor! 🙌

I love that you dug into this, Diane!

Ephesians 6 was the first part of Scripture that really grabbed my attention and has long been my favorite chapter in the Bible.

Even before I recognized the real source, it always struck me as odd when I would hear commentators speculate that Paul was just pulling associations from the armor of his captors.

This might just be my neurodivergence coming out, but I always figured there had to be something deeper. And that's what I'm always looking for is the next layer. My constant question is, "what do we find when we go deeper?"

I think if I was a character in a movie my catch phrase would be, "but why?" 😂

I think ‘but why’ were my first words 🤣 I used to get in trouble for constantly asking it in religious instruction as a kid!

You ain't alone! Different kid, same wait in the hall until teacher calmed down....

I'm way older now, and only now beginning to get it.

Healthy, happy, renewal to all over holidays,

May we all safely emerge from bomb shelters ASAP

Those was awesome!!!! Thank you Diane ❤️

I was aware of the Levitical priests being clothed in this "armor" but not to this depth.

Praise Yah!

Loved this study…this really did it for me…vision of a God who, when He saw no one stepping in to defend His people, put on His own armor and went to battle Himself.✝️

He goes before us!
