Key Verse:
Matthew 5:14 — "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden."
Truth Drop: You weren’t saved to stay silent. You were called to be seen.
Devotional: Somewhere along the way, we started believing that humility meant hiding. That taking up space was prideful. That being bold was “too much.”
But friend, when Jesus said you are the light of the world, He didn’t follow it with “as long as no one’s uncomfortable.”
You weren’t designed to dim down for culture, convenience, or comfort. You were made to shine, to stand, to speak truth with love and walk in the authority of the One who called you.
This world needs your fire. Your voice. Your gifts. Your witness.
Don’t let fear of rejection rob the world of the light you were born to carry.
This is something we go deeper into in our Mussar program—where we talk about the powerful tension between humility and taking up holy space. If that resonates with you, head over to our website at She Opens Her Bible to learn more.
Spiritual Mic Drop:
“Your quiet obedience is holy. But don’t confuse that with hiding. Shine on purpose.”
Reflect + Respond: Where have you been playing small to keep others comfortable? What bold step can you take this week to stand in your God-given light?
Final Reminder: You weren’t saved to blend in. You were lit to shine bright. Take up space, friend—the world needs the Jesus in you.
