December always shows up acting like it has something to say. The pace slows down, the nights get long, the emotions get loud, and suddenly I’m over here asking the Lord why I’m crying at Christmas commercials.
It’s the month where your soul finally admits what it’s been carrying. The hopes. The heaviness. The joy. The exhaustion. The “Lord, I tried my best but this year was a lot” moments. And right in the middle of all that? God whispers the reminder we forget faster than we should.
The Light has come.
Right into the middle of the chaos, into the places we don’t know how to fix.
This is not a cute seasonal idea. This is not a Christmas card sentiment. This is the reality that changes everything. Jesus showed up in a world as messy as ours and lit it from the inside. No waiting for perfect moments. No waiting for people to get their act together. No waiting for calm skies. He stepped in and everything shifted.
And if He did it then, He can do it right now.
That’s why this month’s reading plan focuses completely on His light. Not the symbolic kind. The real kind. The kind that warms your spirit when life feels cold. The kind that settles your mind when it won’t stop spinning. The kind that exposes the lies you’ve been believing. The kind that brings peace into places you didn’t think could ever feel peaceful. The kind that reminds you that darkness does not get the final say.
These Scriptures will take you straight into the truth of who Jesus is. You’ll see Him in prophecy, in promise, in fulfillment, and in power. You’ll see how the entire story of Scripture leads to Him. You’ll see why you do not have to be afraid of whatever tried to follow you into December.
Each day has one passage. Nice and simple. Read it slowly. Sit with it. Let it talk to you. Let the Holy Spirit press the part you need. If a verse catches your attention, stay there. God is not rushed and He is not worried about your reading speed.
By the time this month wraps up, my prayer is that you don’t just know the Light has come. I want you to feel it. I want you to recognize it in your own life. I want you to see how He has been guiding you, keeping you, correcting you, comforting you, and carrying you even on the days you didn’t realize you needed carrying.
December is not only the end of the year. It is an invitation.
To slow down.
To breathe.
To remember what is true.
To watch God shine in places that felt too dim for too long.
The Light has come.
And He isn’t done lighting up your world.
Let’s read together this month and welcome every bit of the hope, peace, and clarity He brings.
