The Hebrew word kavod means weight, not sparkle. Here's how kavod became the Greek doxa and why "glory" is far more substantial than you've been taught.
Rabbi spoke of the first humans pre-fall. They were able to bear the full weight of G-d’s kavod initially because they possessed a perfect state of holiness.
I’ve been wanting to study the Hebrew and Greek text for years. You make it approachable and understandable. I’m becoming a paid member just so I can continue your messages alone. Thank you for blessing me with your knowledge and being obedient to write. BTW, I love your humor!!
Oh you are so sweet to say that, thank you!! I also have a Hebrew course as well if you want to dig into learning. And if you do become a vault member you get a discount on it!
So glad I read all the way to the end. When you said we were created to bear the weight of His image! To carry His presence with us into the room 🥹🔥 Loved that!
The action question about Ezekiel 11 really has me thinking because I already thought that passage was heartbreaking, but thinking about the weight of God's presence leaving adds another layer to the grief.
This is so full I’m going to have to read it several times so I don’t miss anything!!! I LOVED this part: “The word got baptized in kavod and never recovered its original smallness.” I loved ALL of it SO much!!! …an occupying force …so heavy …everything else in the room becomes structurally incapable of standing upright…” I’m praying to feel whatever He knows I can handle and I’m praying He will cause me to be able to handle a lot. 🙏🏻 Just to know that one day we get to be with Him in ALL of the weight of His presence just leaves me in awe. 😭🙌🏻 And also very homesick!!!
Wow. That's heavy (please don't throw anything at me 😂, I know my puns are awful).
Seriously though, I love this. It completely changes the entire paradigm of so many passages!
LOL Thank you Kevin!! And your puns are not awful LOL

Right? I feel like that when I read Jeremiah and Lamentations as well. I am going to have to do a special series on lament...there is so much there.

It is the weight of God looking for somewhere to land.
