The Lie: My dysfunction is my identity.
The Truth: I am who God says I am.
Key Verse:
2 Corinthians 5:17 — “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
Let’s Break This Down: This lie shows up in sentences like: “I’m just an anxious person.” “I’ve always been like this.” “That’s just my personality.”
But when dysfunction gets mistaken for identity, we start guarding the very things Jesus came to heal.
You are not your past. You are not your trauma. You are not the worst thing that happened to you.
You are new.
Not slightly improved. Not cleaned up on the outside. New.
That doesn’t mean you don’t still have patterns to break or wounds to heal, but it does mean that your identity is no longer rooted in what was. It’s rooted in Who is.
Today’s Detox Truth:
“You don’t have to be who you’ve always been. You get to be who He says you are.”
Reflection Prompt:
What label have you worn that Jesus never gave you?
What truth about your identity do you need to embrace today?
Challenge Check-In: Today’s a celebration—share what you’ve gained from this challenge or post one word that speaks to who you are now in Him.
Final Word: You are chosen. You are holy. You are dearly loved. Let that be the loudest voice in your life.

Ooof yes! The labels I was given by the evil one are "you'll never be good enough", "you've always had depression-that's how you were wired". I'm working on them, with Jesus' help. His Word tells me differently and I am who HE says I am!
