I made the connection with Jesus. I found it interesting that his linage was full of the worst sinners. Look at King David and then there were many others who sinned, yet he overcame all!

RUTH IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS!

What I call “miracles of circumstance “ are everywhere in this story, all leading to the miracle of miracles, our salvation in Yeshua! Thank you for making me smile and cry at the beauty of our God’s love!❤️

I forgot to mention that I had never known about the connection with Tamar-Perez-Boaz and I was just beside myself. It always bothered me so much what happened to her and the way it seemed to not even be dealt with but I always thought the point was the devastating effects of not disciplining our kids and I saw that it set off a whole chain of events in David’s life when he failed to discipline his son who that did that to her - including the destruction of another son! So when I realized this as I read through the Bible study I was so blessed it literally made me cry because I saw how faithfully God cared for Tamar. (I hope I have all the situation correct because I have been known to intertwine characters who are from different stories lol! Please correct me when I am wrong!!) Anyway. I just wanted to let you know that you have helped me so much. At 63 years of age and reading the Bible and studying for 40 of those years I’m just now learning to slow the heck down and learn even deeper. Thank you.

I am so happy that you are reading and studying the Bible in a new and exciting way!!

There is a really good book you might enjoy called Texts of Terror by Phyllis Trible that Rav Carl Kinbar recommended to me several years ago and I got it the next day and read it all the same day. I could not put it down. If I remember correctly, there is a section on Tamar. Check it out here and see if you're interested in it (this is my affiliate link BTW because it is saved in my Favorite Books) https://amzn.to/4srcEbt

I had never made that connection in Ruth 4:12. And I've always found it interesting that Bathsheba is not mentioned by actual name in Matthew 1 but rather the Lord takes note to mention Uriah by name - the very Man David tried to “erase.” God makes sure he is remembered (sidenote)
