7-Day Bible Study: “The God Who Sees: Encounters with El Roi” - Day 5
The Bleeding Woman — Seen in the Crowd (Mark 5:25–34)
Key Truth: Jesus sees the faith that feels small and hidden but changes everything.
Scripture Reading: Mark 5:25–34
Teaching:
Twelve years. That’s how long she had been bleeding. Twelve years of isolation, poverty, and shame. The law said she was ritually unclean (not morally). Everyone else said she was untouchable (to avoid transferring that ritual impurity). But she said, “If I just touch His clothes, I will be healed” (v. 28).
The Greek word for “touch” is haptomai: to cling to, to fasten yourself to. That’s not a casual brush; that’s desperate faith. And it worked… she was healed instantly.
But here’s the best part: Jesus wouldn’t let her sneak away. He stops the whole crowd to call her forward. And He doesn’t just say, “You’re healed.” He says, “Daughter.” That’s identity restored. That’s dignity returned.

Where do you feel invisible in your suffering?
How does it change things to know that Jesus stops the crowd for you?
Journal Prompt: Write a prayer where you reach for Jesus with your most desperate need. Be bold.
