As sit in the hospital room for the 11th day with my son, without answers for what is next for him, I feel so helpless. But this reminded me that I am not feeling helpless, but not able to control the situation or the outcome. Today, I surrender it all. Tomorrow I will wake up and the choice again. Thank you for this!
I am so sorry you and your son are going through this.
Lord...You see Your daughter sitting in this hospital room. You see her son. You see every detail of his body, every breath he takes. You know what the doctors don’t, and You hold what she cannot control.
Lord, when she feels helpless, remind her she is not hopeless. You are the God who parts seas, who heals with just a word, who carries the end from the beginning.
As she surrenders this situation to You, calm her heart. And when tomorrow comes, give her the grace to surrender again. Let her know that surrender is not giving up, it is giving in to Your perfect care.
Cover her son with Your mercy and your healing. Surround them both with peace that goes beyond all understanding. Hold her steady when her strength feels like it has run dry, and remind her that You are near them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
