Luke says Moses and Elijah spoke with Jesus about His "departure" but the Greek word is exodos, the same word behind the Exodus story. Here's what that conversation actually meant.
I was always got “shocked and amazed” reactions mixed with hospitality vibes from St. Peter. They’d been asleep or at least that is how their state is described. “Is this happening or is this a dream?” I think about how St. Peter in Acts doesn’t know if his being released by an angel is real or not until after it’s all over. I’m still trying to study if “sleep” is a cultural reference before major spiritual events.
Wouldn’t that same Cloud have been experienced in the tabernacle once a year by the high priest? If so, you have Moses/Torah (tablets in the ark) in the cloud in the tabernacle. God’s voice is heard. Then when they “wake up?” they see the God-man. Now they have seen this person in a divine display. His coming death isn’t extracted from him, but he lays it down.
They return as the two witnesses during the tribulation or am I wrong
