Abraham Joshua Heschel on the other hand, understood Divine pathos and the mind of true prophets as being an emotional conduit. When I receive a "download" of intent, a physical, kinetic response is triggered, then the necessity to write the full details onto paper. Until this time, I never understood how much we are in G-D's image & likeness. He hears us and senses our emotions. He never ceases to amaze.
This is how I have come to experience Him in my life. I'm surrounded by memories of heartache in the midst of which He also consoled me in an unmistakable way, that I can only love Him.
My friend and former coworker at Advancing Native Missions, Paul Robbins, himself a Messianic Jew, created a regional department at ANM and later an independent ministry called Comfort My People with partnerships with Messianic Jewish ministries in Israel. It was a great blessing to participate in Paul's 2019 tour of Israel and to meet many of the partners. That is a part of my background that informs my great interest in your work. Thank you! Also, continuing to pray for your nacham and shalom.
Walking thru my husbands recent passing and my sons estrangement has me searching the Bible for any and all writings about grief, pain, mourning, etc. Seeing “pained” as it relates to how God saw and still sees his creation stirred my soul in a new way about all of my heartache. He knows the “pain” of his children walking away from Him, just as he understands my pain. Knowing this is one thing, actually understanding the original language brings my understanding to a new level. Thanks for creating a way of seeing the Bible as it was originally intended
Becky I am so sorry for your loss and the pain you are feeling about your husband and your son as well. I pray for reconciliation and I am so blessed that this article helped you!! Blessings! ❤️
Such a beautiful picture of our personal Savior who loves deeply. The depth of His grief/comfort draws me closer to Him, causing me to dream of sitting in His lap while His loving arms hug me through sorrow right up to consolation. Thank you for this insight!
Diane, this was breathtaking for me. We always look at these emotions as opposites.
It rounds out a picture of Yeshua that is deeper and fuller than the mind has gone to before or can comprehend. Thank you. Apparently I needed this right now! I am blessed.

What a beautiful way to begin a Wednesday morning!
This touches the purest parts of my heart as I think about my own children, and the nacham that a dad (and mom) experiences.
