I haven’t been able to shake your reflection on yotzer—the idea of God forming us so personally. That image has stayed with me all week. I included this in my weekly roundup because it was just so powerful. Thank you for this.
Diane, oh, I loved this post! It’s so resonated with me and how I feel about our legacy the word that you just taught to us and talked to us about is why I put A Well-Crafted Legacy as the name of my page. I saw what crafted meant and was like yes hands-on, attentive, and doesn’t take His eyes off of and neither can we. You did a wonderful job of breaking it down so that we can understand exactly why the Word uses it the way it does and where I was. Very blessed. Be encouraged. Continue to write.❣️
I literally can't get enough of your posts. This was really beautiful! I've studied the Adam and Eve story numerous times. I love it so much--I'm always finding something new. This was new. It makes the love of God feel so much richer and deeper and, quite honestly, it draws me even closer. Thank you for these deep dives!
I love the way God speaks through many things. I especially love a good visible "thread" that connects things throughout my day. My morning meditation has been on Gen 32 with Jacob wrestling the Angel of the Lord in connection to Paul's teaching in Eph 6:12 that we wrestle not with flesh and blood. The Hebrew word used in Gen 32 for "wrestle" comes from the word "dust".
And then I come here and you wrote "The same God who spoke galaxies into existence 𝑔𝑜𝑡 𝑑𝑜𝑤𝑛 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑚𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢."
Whenever conflict and struggles arise, I can have faith that God is in that moment, in the dust, wrestling alongside me, emboldening me to face hard things head-on, trusting that in all things, especially hard things, He is forming me into something new. I may emerge with a limp, or a thorn in the flesh that remains, but it's all grace, sufficient grace.
Beautiful article. Thanks for sharing your insights.
We often forget (especially when life gets difficult and God feels far) that God still keeps forming us, moment by moment. This article is such a great reminder of His continued work and presence.
I also love that you focused on the intimacy of God’s shaping us and making us, not just the idea of us being shaped by circumstances to ‘be better’. It really puts a different perspective on the knowledge that He has created each of us uniquely and personally.
The scripture is rewarding and perhaps it pertains more to a persons personality and overall nature. In the “ modern” day pregnant females were prescribed numerous noxious chemicals that harmed the fetus.
How could we then reflect what we were meant to be physically or physiologically with the damages that resulted?
